I don't care for it. None of the new features have any use to me, but of course I'm gonna have to get it because nobody will play 360 anymore. I also don't like any of the games they are making for it, just stupid shooters.
Was excited until I read no backwards compatibility and no used games. The former I am okay with since more than likely it is a hardware issue, the latter is a punch to the face. The fact I need to pay extra money to play a game I legally bought is just flipping off the customer. If I was Sony I would capitalize on Microsoft's failure and announce that the PS4 will not have any hindrance on playing used games.

Sony's stock shot up like 8 or 9 points after the reveal, just sayin.

Yea, Windows 8 is terrible. Just... terrible. But we haven't even heard enough about it from Microsoft to mean that Xbox One is bad. The only thing I don't like is the fee for playing games that someone else played before, I'd prefer online passes tbh. But, to each his own.
And EA is already on the road to recovery. They've ditched Online Passes altogether and it looks quite like they're ditching Always-online DRM as well. But we mustn't forget that these companies still need to reach a profit. I'm willing to bet that Microsoft is going the "Console for everyone" route to reach a wider audience and to in the end, make more money. EA went with Online passes because they see no profit from used game sales and servers still cost money to maintain after the game release. along with that million dollar budget AAA games come with now.
The thing is... A lot of the rest is bad too. If someone desides to just wreck your game he could just pop his head in and yell "CALL GRANDMA!" or something... and all the trash-talk from playing Halo? Directly to Granny. Plus... the Online passes and Always-online DRM? Now that EA is ditching it, Microsoft is picking it up. And the fact that they are legally able to use your Kinect 2 which is REQUIRED to always be hooked up combined with what you use on the console to basically determined your gender, age, height, etc. and STORE all of that and basically sell it to... say.... Google, for their targeted ads.

Oh come on, I'm sure a troll could come up with something crueler than that...
Troll: "CALL 911!"
911 Operator: "Hello, what's your emergency?"
<insert Call of Duty gun shots>
911 Operator: "Police are on their way."
What people don't understand is that backwards compatibility isn't a switch console makers decide to turn on or off. It's an inherent feature of the hardware matching or not matching the previous hardware. x86 CPUs don't run powerpc executables, there is not a choice here, they just physically do not do it. You'd have to stuff a whole console inside another which is financially unsustainable for both costumers and developers.
Ever heard of an emulator for current-gen games that work? Me neither.
The only reason 2013 PCs can emulate games from, say, the PS2 is that current technology is immensely more powerful than the ones we had in 2000. Even so, many modern emulators will still have problems with some of the more advanced PS2 games, such as Shadow of the Colossus. This is the same reason that certain consoles are capable of playing a selection of games from the previous generation. Either the console didn't change enough in architecture from its previous generation, or the game being played is not so demanding that emulation is impossible.
Emulation isn't simply making a program and bam, software from other machines work. It requires similarity of hardware and significant technological advances. Hardware is also notoriously... painful to emulate properly. There's a reason that even N64 Emulators aren't perfect right now.
That's funny, about a month and a half ago, my economics class picked 5 companies to invest $10,000 in, and the kid who (I think) made the most invested in Sony, and he made overall $800 (though I invested in Microsoft and I made just over $300 off of them alone)
OT, I don't understand why people criticize the lack of emphasis on gaming during the reveal. I wouldn't expect them to have to explicitly state that a video game console plays video games. However, I didn't actually watch the reveal, only details given in the reveal, so I'm not sure.
...Yep. Microsoft is just basically trying to do the stupidest thing possible. If we want an all-in-one device we get a gaming PC and Netflix.
You see, while I 100% agree with the cricticisms of an online pass and the used games thing, I don't think the cricticisms of the non-gaming features make any sense. Whatsoever. You see, integration of other features does not, in fact, take away from gaming. When a new smart phone is revealed, they don't announce it's ability to talk to people from far distances, do they? Because every smartphone is expected to do that. Nowadays you can't just sell a console based on the fact that it will, well, play games. Remember when the PS2 had a DVD player included? That changed the entire industry. Any console will be expected to play games. What sells it are the features beyond that, and good exclusives.
I didn't hear anyone complaining when cell phones started getting Internet access. "Wait it has a camera and Internet access? Geez why can't my phone just make calls?" Likewise, I don't see it as a valid reason to hate Microsoft.
Not that I'm trying to defend any side here, as I'd say the same thing regardless of which console was being targeted by such ridiculous acusations. The point is this: Say you have a house & you're looking to expand it. Do you tear things down to make room for what you want to add? No, you build around it and add to it. That's exactly what's going on with the Xbox One. It's adding features to the console, not taking away. It will still play the games you want it to play.

The thing is... the troll features of the added features basically mean if someone shouts "GO TO TV!" then it can get you killed in a high tension halo match or something.

As a matter of fact, no; unlike the 360, voice reconition is matched to each profile. It'll only recognize the commands of whoever is playing at the time.
Anyway, I don't really care. I don't really play video games that much besides Minecraft.
"So when you're having hot couch sex with your girlfriend, you better hope you don't shout something that sounds like 'call grandma!'"
Now what would cause someone to shout that out during the act?
Some folks have weird fetishes...
Sony's stock shot up like 8 or 9 points after the reveal, just sayin.
It gets a result.
I better start investing in Sony then.

I'm still looking for the original to confirm.
EDIT - Confirmed fake, but still leaving because it has so much burn potential. Unless Sony screws up.
