I've already put in a few hours into this and am already a level 10 Templar. This game is amazing. This appeals to Diablo fans and Champions of Norrath/Everquest.
It really leaves a new player in the dark.
You have to do a bit of research before playing if you want to get anywhere.
Not very intuitive or player friendly.
Plus points for good mechanics though, hard to say much more as i didn't get far before quitting, burnt out on diablo III myself.
I wouldn't say it is the finest, but its not bad either.

Your friendly neighborhood dragon. Don't be scared, I won't bite!
I am here for you, Don't be afraid to send me a message.
It's built more around Diablo the original, but with a ridiculous skill tree. It's hard for new players because you're coming in thinking it's going to either be like Diablo III or WoW. Also, it's still Beta, so it is still getting some fine tuning.

Would not playing either Diablo III or WoW be a good thing, or a bad one for somebody trying this game?
Tried it out for a few hours today and it was fun, I liked it. Is it plausible to level two different branches of you passive skill tree? I ask because I would like to be a templar with a sword and shield who can use magic, but I'm not sure if it would be a good idea or not.
I've been playing for the past 2 days and I'm loving it.
Level 29 ranger at them moment, anyone wanna come play?
PM me if you'd like to party up, almost finished second act.

I can do 230 pull up's and have walked 17.3 km's in under 10s through bush and fire breaks in the 45 degree heat, uphill in the snow in my bare feet. I also wrestle bears, tigers, lions and giraffes every day on my way to work. I was also the one who emancipated the slaves in 1863. that's the extent of my physicality.

I'm going with an Elemental build, so I'm not sure. You can level two different branches.
As far as i can tell you are supposed to specialize quite a bit, but that doesn't stop you from going, say, totems and swords.
You have complete freedom, experiment and find out what works for you n.n
Yeah it doesn't seem like what I was trying to do was possible plausible, but I've since found out that it doesn't really matter because there are still skills that are quite 'magical' but don't require any intelligence, for example I just found an ability that transforms my sword slashes into lighting projectiles.
Really have to say I'm having a great time with this game, I switched over to duelist and I'm loving it so far, can't wait until I get farther and can experiment with support gems and whatnot. Can't wait to see what sort of features will be added to this game.
I'm liking the game so far. I feel PoE is what Diablo 3 should of been. Diablo 3 has no unique builds, every class is the exact same thing that can respec on the fly. No choices to be made in Diablo 3, and they just hold your hand along the way.
With the massive skill tree in PoE there is so many different possibilities on how you can make your char, the only problem being is if you spend 20+ hours on a char, and don't like your build you can't really respec. I like the fact you're stuck with your char, but a lot of people aren't going to want to build 3-5 chars of the same class to find a build they like.
The only thing Diablo 3 has better than PoE is the boss battles. The boss battles are kind of meh in PoE.

Yeah, so far spamming double strike and periodically taking health and mana potions has been enough for me to be able to defeat all of them, but maybe they'll get stronger later on in it's development, or maybe I haven't even gotten to the tougher guys yet.

During many free weekends on PoE many people thought the same, I don't really mind about the boss battles either, they're perfectly fine for my liking. PoE just gets a lot more fun when you play it with friends though.
I think at around late Act 2 and Act 3 bosses get harder, (don't worry Grinding Gear is adding more acts). But people there is one very important thing about this, it is completely free to play so you're not paying a whole 60 or so do dollars on a game like Diablo III. The free to play model is great but I'm just not sure if Grinding Gear is getting enough income.

Yeah, I certainly hope they'll add more items/features that are worth buying, because right now there's not much, but I feel like buying something just to support them.

Bad in the sense off you might not have in-depth knowledge of how ARPG's work, but good in the sense of you didnt play diabo 3 or Wow
