What is the best generation in your opinion? I absolutely LOVE Gen III (Hoenn).
What is your favorite game? Sapphire.
I like those because there is SOOOO much to do in the Hoenn. Contests, diving, battle tower, biking (I have probably spent 20hours just biking around the map), amazing Pokémon, epic art (much better than that new ****, imo), the desert, secret bases, and so much more.
I actually don't like the graphics of the games past GBA, Soul Silver/Heart Gold is meh, imo.
Played the original game (Red version) when it first came out. Played Silver as well when it came out later. I think past the 2nd generation pokemon the game developers added a lot of really stupid concepts to the game. As far as I am concerned Fire Red and Leaf Green are the only pokemon games. None of the others matter.
As a side note: I like poison pokemon. If you're going to pick only one type to play with poison isn't the best... but it is fun. And I can run an entire poison team and still use all the HMs (Tentacruel for Surf, Crobat for Fly, etc).
Funny story:
My first Pokemon game was Pokemon Yellow: Pika Pika! Edition. My older brother (he was around 10) tricked me into thinking that they only made 100 of those, and, of course, I believed him (I was like, 6 so give me a break). I kept that thing in my Gameboy color and never took it out, but my younger brother (he was around 4) wanted to play, so I told him not to save over my profile. He didn't save over it or anything, but he decided to take it out and put it in his pocket. He forgot it in his pocket. It got washed in his pocket. I lost my save (level 100 party), but the game still worked, so I started fresh. My older brothers friend knew how to get a full level 100 party, by encountering Missingno. I got an even better party then the first, and I had beaten every possible thing (literally). Until my little brother decided to put the game in his pocket again. It was washed, again. Only this time the game didn't work anymore. I still torment my brother with that, how he washed it twice. I cried, and cried, and cried. But then I got a blue Gameboy Advance SP. So I got Pokemon Sapphire, and that is now my favorite game.
I didn't get a Gen II game because my older brother already had one.
My top 5:
1. Hoenn
2. Unova
3. Sinnoh
4. Kanto
5. Johto
I feel like Hoenn had the best Pokemon and places.
Unova felt new and almost completely original.
I joined Pokemon when Sinnoh came out, and I have the most memories from it.
Kanto is neutral for me.
Johto was my least favorite due to the style of the Pokemon sprites.
1. Kanto (the most nostalgic for me, i've only played the remakes but I used to spend HOURS playing the thing)
2. Sinnoh (lots of stuff to do)
3. Johto (revisiting Kanto was nice but both regions in the games were far too easy for my liking)
4. Unova (too linear IMO for a game of this sort, had a nice storyline but was easy and had a lackluster postgame)
XXX. Hoenn (never played the games, from what it sounds like though it would replace Kanto's spot)

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?
None of the other games have the feature to allow a Pokemon (Pikachu, specifically) to follow you around. Also, you can get all three of the other starters legitimately, without trading.

And it doesn't have nonsensical breeding.
HG/SS. Pokemon follow you around.
And you don't have to breed Pokemon. I rarely do.
1. Johto (My first game was Crystal, and I just love this region) 2. Kanto (Can't get better then the original) 3. Hoenn (Emerald is probably one of my favorite pokemon games alongside FireRed/LeafGreen and HeartGold/SoulSilver) The other two I hate, it just isn't the same. Not to hate or anything but when I saw they made a candle pokemon (Litwick) I just thought they were getting unoriginal. Black/White was still fun just hated the pokemon in it.

Pokémon, you say?
Makes me want to find my Emerald card and play it again :u
