by that i mean people applying for long dead roleplays i.e. Herobrine Island 2 not too long ago... I dont even understand their reasoning, "lets look back to page ten and apply for one of those roleplays derp"

Arguments happen, they just do, you can't stop it, no matter how much power you have, even if it takes years to settle, when it does, everyone is stronger for it. Rivalries can be made into friendships if you let them.
Some ideas are meant to be made into reality, but most need to be burned at the stake.

yeah, comment about that, can there be a thread specifically for advertizing roleplay and/or sharing ideas, thats what Guygombaa's Forum Net Hut is supposed to be but not many people pay attention

Hetalia is an anime in which all the countries are made into people. If people haven't seen it, they would be able to choose a country that isn't already in the anime/manga.

I would tell you about how awesome I am down here, but I have a feeling you probably already know that. <- Please. ._.

That's basically what this thread is for. You can ask questions about the roleplaying section, share ideas, and recommend/promote roleplays (they MUST be MineCraft Forum Roleplays, you cannot promote anything that is outside of this site. Read the forum rules for more information).
To prevent any misinterpretations, I've added that promoting roleplays (or any content) that are outside of this website is strictly forbidden, it's in the second paragraph in the OP. If you need any more information about the rules regarding advertising, check out the Forum Rules (there's a link in my signature).
So advertising, eh? Well, I made a chill RP about a neighborhood in a storm. If anyone wants to join, they can. There are no applications (hence "chill") but you need to post detailed posts.

I just read Cwitchys definition of Power Gaming and am currently laughing my head off.
Also, I'm planning on a making an RP. It's going to be set in Hell. What do you guys think?
I demand the Nine Circles.
And poor damned souls trying to climb the walls of the City of Dis while Minotaurs snipe them in a desperate bid to get the **** out.
I've been looking for a good free-form roleplay for a while. The only ones in existence always die before I can finish a story arc, Saggitarius is a great example. That's why I started writing Fallout: The York Projects, but it already seems to have died and it's not even in IC yet.
Anyone know of a good open-world RP?

My name is Ozymandias, king of kings. Look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair.
If you want something like Sagittarius, I'd recommend Aaron's Precipice of War. You can control a nation, an organization or an individual in an alternate storyline where WWI went on longer than IRL and WWII never happened, forever changing the way technology developed. It's pretty fun and very, very, very well made. Everyone in it is really good so literacy is pretty high, which shouldn't be a problem for you from what I've seen.
I looked at Precipice of War some time ago, and was under the impression that you could only control a country. Large-scale control isn't really my thing. But if you can control an individual, I may need to give it a second look. Granted, I'd probably be the only one doing so, but it still seems like it would be fun.

You can RP as an organization or an individual. If you want to RP as an organization trying to advance computer technology (which is very primitive in PoW), you can, but you have to make sure their research and development takes a realistic amount time. If you want to RP as a random citizen in someone's country, or a soldier/whatever you want, you also can.

Yup.
In these situations, it'd be best to do your own research to get your own idea of where to go and what to do. The steps that need to be taken may depend on the project. But I think I narrowed it down to: Design, Assembly, Launch.
@bluemaus
Spiral would be, if people would actually bother playing it. Speaking of spiral...
I am one to countinue being inane and say that if you want a unique, open-world sci-fi RP perhaps Spiral would be something to look at. I mean, he'll even if the RP is in actuality a terrible RP I still at the very least would like reception or something. I know I won't be that active this week due to camp and all, but the small number of people even considering spiral to play is rather shocking to me.
Just to head back a few steps for a moment. Here's a way to not get powerplaying and godmodding confused: Godmodding = god mode, the other is by elimination. Dilemma solved.
Coming soon for you guys is a 'RP spotlight' thread. Akin to what Mafidog had up ages ago, but with less polls, updated (probably) weekly and still dependent on community input. If you post links to your new RPs there when its up, I can have a look into them and put them on display with a quick synopsis for the week. In theory, it'll be good publicity for your RP and it'll make finding RPs a little easier.

The moral of these stories? Play God, and there is a 100% chance you will be mauled to death by leopard men.

This is suppose to be RP discussion and information, not a place to put your feelings :/Nevermind, that sounded a bit mean.

@Krakaz: Ah, you mean gravedigging topics. If you see someone resurrecting an extremely old topic, just report it and I'll handle it.

EDIT: Since I am allowed to promote my own RPs, can someone tell me why Galactic Civilizations is failing? Did I make too many apps?
Yup.
