Before you ask what arachnophobia is, it is the fear of spiders. I have a pretty bad case of it, as I refuse to be any closer than 7 yards near a spider. I need a bit of help dealing with it. Any help would be greatly appreciatēd.
I am typically not afraid of the usual stuff. Use to hunt poisonous snakes to sell to zoos. But I had been bitten by a poisonous spider at an early age and was uneasy around them so.... I thought it was silly for me to be timid around non-poisonous spiders. So I would go out into yard/garden/woods and find a large local variety, garden spider. At first I would just look at the spider and web and think about the beauty of it all then I started to 'pet' the back of the spiders back with my finger. After doing that a few times I am OK with spiders.
That being said a healthy caution for things that can harm you is reasonable. For instance don't stick a bare hand into a pipe that may have a black widow etc.
I have Ophidiophobia. It is a fear of snakes. I can't even see pictures of snakes. When there is a snake in a movie I cover my eyes and wait for the scene to end but I am trying to overcome that fear.
There are few different ways to get rid of your fear.
You can see a therapist. I think he will tell you to face your fear. That is very hard but I think you should. It won't be easy and it will take time. You should take your loved ones such as your parents or boyfriend/girlfriend and go to a place where they keep spiders.
Try looking at them when they are in a closed space and then try to hold him in your hand.
I also find them repulsive.
Read a few articles about them...
Just a quick question, are there a lot of spiders where you live?
I also have a fear of snakes, but it's probably nowhere near as bad as yours. Anyways, I think I might be able to go near a spider, but there is no way in the bloody world that I am going to touch one. I know most of them can't kill me, but the way they move, their eyes.......... Ugh. It makes me shiver. Also, about where I live, hes. I live just outside of a forest, so there is a ton of deer, snakes,s and palm-sized spiders. Funny thing is, they don't bother me when I'm in the woods.
Try to kill as many as possible. They are DEADLY. One almost killed my grandmother.
When? In like 1930?
Seriously, even black widows and brown recluses aren't deadly as long as you receive treatment within 48 hours. Barring allergic reactions or multiple bites at once.
Phobias are irrational fears for a reason. Because there is not one single reason in the world for you to be afraid. You should be more afraid of cars or fast food.
Also, you are never more than 10 feet from a spider.

A wise person once said: "Offense is never given, only taken."
If you see a spider, just slowly walk up to it, and look at it for a brief second and try to touch it. If it's too uncomfortable for you, wait, and try again later.
I used to be more scared of spiders, but I got over it a lot by brutally murdering it, then it spent the night with the fishes. Plus there was a tarantula in my house once. It was wild. We let it go.

For it is foretold that on the great day of rustling, no mortals shall live in fear
I used to be scared of spiders but when I joined the gang back in '92, Lil Monk and me were both chilling by the pool when we saw a big ass spider floating around. I screamed like a Female Dog* and Lil Monk called me a ***** and squished old daddy long legs with his pointer finger and thumb. I failed him that day and I learned that it was time to step up. 6 years later I was home jerking off, the usual, but then I noticed the biggest spider I ever saw. I straight up punched that rascal and felt good about it. I learned that day that I punch like a Female Dog* and that damn spider bit me. It was OK though so I grabbed a pair of scissors and sliced little man up. I ain't scared of spiders no more.
If you don't want to touch it how will you kill it? All spiders may not deserve to die but once you see how easy they die the fear will slowly fade. If you don't like the spider being close, smash it, then you can examine it at your leisure. I had a tarantula once as well, mom says "not poisonous" i said "those are really big fangs" sure I got bit sometimes, felt like being pinched by Mom when your acting out in public...
I used to be chocolate cake.. but then new Minecraft Forums happened..

Go to the country outside Waga Waga.
Provided everything hasn't normalized you will find yourself deep in therapy for that fear of yours.
