I'm quite lucky to find someone on a Roblox server who is actually mature.
On Twitter, they are spaced out and they come together to share their thoughts about why this generation is wrecked. Believe me; in my 2 years of roleplaying on that social network, i've made quite the friendships.
But in Roblox, it's more rare. And especially more difficult to tell if they do not use the same level of grammar as me...
Very true indeed! Except if they are exposed to mature things and have the capacity to let it all sink in and not get scarred by it. Not that kind of mature content, you perverts!
Age is required for maturity, but doesn't necessarily lead to maturity.
Of course, that depends entirely on how you perceive maturity. If someone really poked and prodded me on what I really thought maturity was, I'd give an "I'll get back to you on that one" before coming up with an unnecessarily wordy and lengthy definition. It's not something I can explain eloquently.
I do appreciate mature people, though. Perfect foil to my, at times, cruder personality.
Well, if by mature you mean not running around completely destroying everything, being able to learn and not troll all the freaking time, and not screaming or freaking out, then sure. But if you mean by always being completely serious and not making any jokes, then I'm not that, lol.

In most cases, yes. However, I can say that I was pretty mature when I was about 11. I was an Admin on a pretty good Minecraft Classic server, and I always told everyone I was 16 (because then no one would really insult me due to my age). Nobody thought otherwise.
You do realize that the typical internet criterion for mature basically involves typing with proper grammar, no? People would think that I was 16 when I was 8 merely because I didn't type like an eight year old. It is hard to truly judge how mature someone is simply over the internet; when the only method of conveying thoughts is through text, it is hard to get a true sense of any person unless you already know them personally.
Personally, I've never seen how people could type in fragments and with awful grammar. It really saves little to no time, and it certainly costs time for the reader. On top of that, it's bad habit; I've seen it translate into formal writing for others during peer-editing. It might just be OCD, but it seriously bothers me that people are so lazy that they can't be bothered to type a few more letters.

Pretty much this, and even the mature people are mature because they know when to act like children, LIke nanners he's someone I'd call mature but when goes down he's giggling like a school girl, to be mature you need to know how to be immature as well.
I'd add you but I just don't play Minecraft as much as I used to, if you play anything else though I'll send you an add otherwise I'd just be that guy sitting on your skype list taking up space.
I don't think maturity simply comes with age nor how a person acts against or with you though.
I feel that maturity is simply an act of a person knowing the situation and understanding the impact of his / her actions on themselves, other people and the situation.
I mean, a mature person can be a douche over the internet as he understand that there is no long term repercussions of his action and he prioritize his enjoyment over others in this manner since no one would be affected gravely by it.
It's hard to find mature people in general. Even in an environment that is meant for academia (I'm in college as of now) is no promise of maturity. Yes, there is a moderate correlation between age and maturity. Obvious, but true nevertheless.
-I agree with you snip-

This is debatable, but not really worth debating. Being a douche over the internet or not really depends on your moral convictions.
But, you make a strong point overall of which I agree with you entirely.

Not that kind of mature content, you perverts! If all of us give a little bit of something to a good cause, we can help to make that cause happen.

Broad generalization. Marv, for example, is significantly older.
Most mature people I know don't use slang like, "dou."

But there are moments when... well let's just say I get kind of weird.

Just my two cents.
