If monsters erupted from a place, then I would assume military forces, police, etc would have various safe-zones. I would go to those zones and begin a new life within boundaries.
If I had to choose a weapon, i'd choose something quite, but high powered, such as a compound bow, or high-powered recurve bow. I am skilled in archery, so it'd be my first preference. But out of both, i'd go compound. And as a secondary? Most likely a silenced pistol of some sort, and a knife.
Also, all the people whom stated that they'd "own them" or any of that idiotic pish posh, i'd highly doubt a vast majority of you all would even attempt to approach these 'monstrous' creatures...

I'd probably try to keep passive in a monster acopalypse, so I'd prefer a weapon that's small and easily carried, yet deadly if I'm under a threat, like the FMG9 and MP7.

Trying to keep passive in this sort of situation would be very, very difficult, especially if you're trying to keep your family and friends safe.
M4 carbine. I like. You can find ammo anywhere (.223 caliber stuff works with it) and with all the AR-15s scattered about, spare parts as well. Also, it has a mean 884 m/sec muzzle velocity.
Well, it'd mostly mean I wouldn't go directly attacking, just trying to find safe spots and defend myself if necessary.
I'd highly doubt there'd be many safe spots, in a monster invasion of some sort. They'd most likely all be overrun. But, assuming you'd want to keep your family safe, then wouldn't you try and ... get somewhere high up? Hoping that the monstrous creatures can't climb.
Also, the creator of the topic needs more information about the monsters. How big? How fast? Can they climb? etc.
Aye, this is what happens when you watch The Walking Dead .....
Well the FMG9 can use Glock 18 ammo, and that can't really be that hard to find...
An M4 would be nice, but I'm thinking if I need to run it'd be unnecessary weight though.
and the idea of finding ammo doesn't really work here... unless I happen to be in a military base :/

It's only six pounds or so (not a whole lot; the rifles I use for drill are ten pounds (old-ass M1903s) and they're not that heavy), compared to the MP7's four. Although the FMG9 is like, one pound. The tradeoff for lethality is still acceptable. Plus, I prefer some weight and a nice buttstock.

As said, an M4 would be nice. Rifles are damn epic

but I think for self-defense it'd be unpractical.
Self-defense? Impractical? It's perfect for self defense in a bad situation. It's a carbine, so you can maneuver inside without bumping it into walls like a full-sized M16. It still shoots the same round at roughly the same power, so it can knock a baddie on his ass in one or two hits. It has range (maximum is about half a kilometer.) It's light, it's durable, and it's got parts and ammo all over the place. Compared to your more exotic choices, the M4 is a rough-and-tumble killing machine.

Hm... you might be right, I just thought of the size of it, and how to quickly switch to it if threatened.
I sure as hell wouldn't complain having one but as said before, ammo isn't really easy to get over here.
I'm decent with a bow, but the penetration power of a gun is better (scientifically proven.)
Of course. Doesn't mean a bow, or even crossbow wouldn't be a fantastic weapon.
Well, a crossbow would be difficult to pull the string back, whereas a bow has a "quicker reload".
I was actually about to say BFG9000.
But I would use The Avenger II from the first Mass Effect, The main drawback of the BFG is Limited ammo.
I'd be the most dangerous clown to exist.
Maybe you should click this?
If it isn't...
Who wouldn't want to disentigrate enemies with a completely alien
snipersmite rifle?Enter the battle with a MK46 and blast them fools, show them who's boss

Good luck finding bullets and/or magazines.

The mag's still wonky, but yes, 9 mils (Glock rounds) are everywhere.

Hence why I chose a bow. Arrows can be used for puncturing the body of the monsters, and for long distance, I'm a hell of a shot.

I don't think I've tried bows before. It'd be epic though, I'm sure.
